State Minister Santosh Kumar Suman, who filed his nomination along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the Bihar Legislative Council elections and retained his membership unopposed as a National Democratic Alliance candidate, has declared his party’s strong claim on the Lok Sabha seat. Santosh Suman is the son of former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who had resigned in the previous Grand Alliance government and became a minister along with CM Nitish Kumar on the day of formation of the new National Democratic Alliance government. Before knowing the reason given by Suman for claiming the Gaya seat, it is also important to know that Jitan Ram Manjhi had tried his luck on this seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a component of the Grand Alliance, but was closely followed by JDU candidate Vijay. He was lagging behind Kumar by a margin of more than 1.5 lakh votes.
Gaya Lok Sabha seat should go to our party
On Thursday, at his residence in Godavari locality of Gaya city, SC-ST Minister Dr. Santosh Kumar Suman said that the seat distribution of NDA alliance in Bihar will be announced on March 14 or 15. He said that Gaya district is the working area of Hindustani Awami Morcha. The party started from here. The workers want that our party should get the Gaya Lok Sabha seat. At the same time, he claimed that preparations are already going on for Gaya Lok Sabha seat and are continuing even today. This is the reason why we wanted party leaders or workers to contest elections from Gaya Lok Sabha seat.
